A Night with the Little Stars: A Festival of Talents 2.0
Date: 07-30-22
CTTP-Nagcarlan’s Family Circus Ministry (FCM) conducted a recital entitled “A Night With The Little Stars that aims to showcase the talents of young individuals ages 3 to 12. It was held at CTTP-Nagcarlan worship hall on Sunday afternoon, July 10, 2022, with tickets sold as low as 100 pesos and 50 pesos for live streaming.
A skit depicting the life of people living in slums opened the recital. Each child portrayed a despairing and disheartening scenario that focused on issues about food scarcity, family problems, mental health concerns, vices, and societal discrimination. These circumstances were altered by a man peddling new clothing, which presents Jesus Christ as a Messiah, shouting “Bagong damit para sa luma!” with the ability of altering people's circumstances. This aimed to spread the Gospel through music and arts.
The program featured the following verses:
Isaiah 64:6
“All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags.”
This shows our situations as human beings who are in desperate need of our Savior.
Isaiah 61:10
“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness,”
God through the son Jesus Christ gave us a new life by washing our sins with His precious blood.
Ephesians 4:22-24
"Put off your old nature, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and put on the new nature, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness."
This means each of us who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior have the responsibility to live the new life that God has given us.
As stated and concluded by Ptr. Arjay Cruzin, each of us was like these dirty clothes–filthy and unworthy to be loved. We are sinners, but through the grace of the Father and through the image of the Son, Jesus Christ, we are washed and made new.
The recital also showed the superkids’ talent in dancing, singing, and playing various musical instruments aside from acting. The recital involved a two-week workshop before the actual recital to teach and enhance the kids’ talents led by their Ate’s and Kuya’s (Fence Builders).
According to Sis. Lani Gambala, the FCM head, the program also helped in:
Nurturing the superkid’s talent
Developing the kid’s sense of responsibility
Minimizing gadget exposure
Improving mental health conditions through actual socialization
The FCM is a ministry that aims to spread the word by touching the lives of young individuals through fun activities and interactive learning. The ticket sales will benefit the upcoming Kids Camp on August 11-13, 2022.
