CTTP Ligao at 38

Date: 03-21-22

Christ to the Philippines Inc. Ligao Chapter celebrated God’s goodness and sustenance for 38 years last February 20, 2022 with the theme: "Nakalulugod na Paglilingkod sa Diyos."

The celebration started with a joyful CTTP Anniversary Song by Sis. Nora and a prayer by Bro. Roland de Luna. It was immediately followed by powerful praise and worship from CTTP Ligao Music Team led by three worship leaders: Junior Pastor Dave Albor, Sis. Roselle Banico, and Sis. Ana Marie Preagola. The congregation danced and lifted their hands in reverence to the Lord as the worship leaders sang songs of praise alternately.

The sermon was delivered by Senior Pastor Antonio Albor having Hebrews 13:1-8 as the reference text.

“1 Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. 2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. 3 Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.

4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,

‘Never will I leave you;

    never will I forsake you.’[a]

6 So we say with confidence,

‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.

What can mere mortals do to me?’”[b]

7 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

Guided by the theme, Pastor Tony elaborated on what we can do to bring pleasing service to the Lord. He emphasized that we as Christians should love others as God loves us.

"Kaya nga, tayo'y maging halimbawa una sa pagmamahal: pagmamahal sa Diyos, pagmamahal sa kapwa, at pagmamahalan natin sa isa't isa bilang magkakapatid.”

Church members from each department also showcased their talents as part of the celebration. The program ended with another joyous song from the Music Ministry followed by a buffet for the lunch break.

A Brief History of CTTP Ligao Chapter

Love for others coupled with a commitment to fulfilling the Great Commission is what fueled the start of CTTP Ligao Chapter 38 years ago. It was in 1984 when Bill Boxley conducted the Jesus Christ The Miracle Crusade in Ligao City which was attended by thousands of people. The crusade lasted for 3 nights and 3 days. On the last day, the team conducted a baptismal service at Binatagan dike where thousands were baptized.

After the crusade, South Bicol District workers under CTTP Inc., through the leadership of Ptr. Domingo Luces, made a follow-up on those that have been baptized within the vicinity of Ligao. They gathered them and conducted regular Sunday service at Ligao National High School (formerly Ligao Municipal Technical Vocational School - LMTVS) under the leadership of Ptr. Tony Albor.

The service had moved places a lot of times. From LMTVS, it was relocated to Binatagan Elementary School. Then, to a building owned by Mr. Ralla. After that, they moved to Mayon High School. The site was then destroyed by Typhoon Sisang, so they had to move again. This time, they gathered at Ptr. Tony's residence at San Lorenzo St., Binatagan, Ligao City.

Through the grace of God, the service was finally relocated to 2nd Flr. Querol Building, Bagumbayan, Ligao City in 1989. It is still the church's address up to this day.

Through the years, the church has initiated outreach and evangelical programs in the cities and municipalities nearby to fulfill the Great Commission. According to Ptr. Tony, they were able to open a lot of out of church services, however, what had been started was never fully established under CTTP Inc. Those that are converted were acquired by other churches.

Out of all the outreach programs, the only remaining daughter churches of CTTP Ligao are the Bololo chapter headed by Ptr. Joshua Pimpullo and the recently started Macael chapter, handled by Junior Pastor Dave Albor.

The church is continuing to respond to the call of evangelism and in bringing Christ to every home. As of the moment, CTTP Ligao Chapter is conducting the Christian Education & Discipleship Program (CEDP), a church leadership training program, that aims to equip young people with the necessary knowledge and skills on evangelism and church leadership. Local Bible studies are also continuing amid the pandemic as well as other non-Sunday church activities for each department: Youth, Young Professional, Men, and Women's Ministry.
