Get Aglow with God
Date: 05-19-21
Who does not want a glowing skin, right? With the advent of the K-industry, it seems that more and more people, especially young people, are getting obsessed with fair and glowing skin. As Christians, we should not just aim for a glowing skin but more importantly, a glowing lifestyle.
One interesting account of a glowing skin in the Bible is written in Exodus 34:29. It says, "the skin of his (Moses) face shone because he had been talking with God."(ESV)
Now, this is a literal glow achieved through long and direct encounters with God that it became physically transformative. Imagine being in the presence of God for forty days and forty nights, talking with Him and doing nothing else but that! It's no wonder his face became radiant as he seemed to take on the radiance of God.
Let me ask you, when was the last time you spent time with God? When was the last time you sought God earnestly? When was the last time you got so excited reading His word? When was the last time you prayed with all your heart? When was the last time you waited until you heard His voice? Have you been so busy with Him? When are you planning to get back on track? When are you going to get serious with this spiritual glow as much as with your rigid skin care routine? Is physical transformation more important than spiritual transformation?
On a lighter note, when was the last time you've been told that you radiate a positive energy? Have you ever been told like that? Or otherwise?
I think it's high time for us to reflect on these things. It's time that we put God first in our everyday day lives. It's time for us to rekindle our passion for God and His words. It's time for us to get aglow with God. After all, spiritual transformation should be our goal more than anything else.
