Unleashed to Serve

Date: 11-08-23

South Bicol District Youth Council (DYC) Chairman, Ptra. Ginalyn Cerdeña, said that the event was “perfectly timed” for the visit of the missionaries at CTTP PioDuran. She shared that the event was originally planned for an earlier date but due to various challenges, it had to be rescheduled several times until September 2 was the only feasible option for the organizers and the participants.

It was a historic and unforgettable moment for the youth leaders of South Bicol District as they experienced God's power and presence in the two-day leadership training workshop held at Christ to the Philippines PioDuran Chapter last September 1 and 2.

The Training workshop entitled Unleash have the following goals:

  • To address emotional wounds, trauma, and past pain, leading to emotional and spiritual healing

  • Enhance leadership traits and challenge participants to become effective leaders in their ministry

  • Develop personalized leadership development plans, setting clear goals for their ongoing growth as leaders.

On Day 1,  Philippine Mission Incorporated or PMI,  Ptr. Joshua Hurd and Bro. Skyler Crookston, ministered to the attendees through healing and spiritual revival. Young people were set free from their bondages (sickness, doubts, depression, abuse, etc.) to be fully effective leaders in their ministries. Many spoke in tongues, experienced holy laughter and were overcome by the Holy Spirit as Ptr. Joshua prayed over them. Ptr. Joshua also said that he received a vision from the Lord showing that “the kids are the tip of the spear” and further explained that it’s a military phrase that means “the ones who go in front and prepare the way for everybody else”.

The second day of the event focused on a leadership training-workshop with Bro. Samuel David Banico, a former DYC officer, as the resource speaker. He taught about the fundamentals of leadership from a Christian perspective and how to apply CTTP’s Mission, Vision, and Goals in their ministries. He also challenged the new and emerging youth leaders to commit to purposive leadership in their local churches. The participants then had the opportunity to plan an activity that they will implement within this year.

The two-day event concluded with the appointment of youth representatives from each local church as new additions to the South Bicol District Youth Council team. They are as follows:

  • Princess P. Dolom - CTTP Ligao City Chapter

  • Rhyven Buemia - CTTP Rapu-Rapu Chapter

  • Cindy M. Belludo - CTTP Salvacion Chapter

  • Via Repolles - CTTP Pantao Chapter

  • Gwyneth Erica Caballas - CTTP Parina Chapter

The South Bicol District Youth Council is blessed to have them in the team and is looking forward to an enhanced participation and organization in the upcoming district youth activities.
